CAST

Carrie Quinlan is a British actress, writer and comedian. She is a regular panellist on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, and has also appeared on Radio 4’s The Now Show, and written for Look Away Now, Newsjack and That Mitchell and Webb Sound. Carrie trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, appearing in, among others, Hedda Gabler, As You Like It, Pravda, Measure for Measure and The Seagull.  She regularly appears at the Edinburgh, Hay-on-Wye, Glastonbury and Latitude festivals. She writes regularly for The Guardian newspaper and has contributed to New Humanist and The Tablet.

John Finnemore is a comedian, writer and performer. He writes and co-stars in the BBC Radio Four sitcom Cabin Pressure and is a regular guest on The Now Show. Recent TV appearances include Miranda and That Mitchell and Webb Look. His favourite flower is the hollyhock, but he has no idea what it looks like. He just likes the name.

Andy Fraser
Most recently Andy has been working as a freelance tenor with Scottish Opera and sang the Tenor part in the quartet in a recent production of Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Andy studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with Ryland Davis, John Mitchinson and Patrick Maguigan. Since then he has performed many principal tenor roles throughout the U.K. including Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. Recent roles include Graham in Spike, a new music theatre work by Alistair Justice, premiered at the Edinburgh Festival and the lead role of Duke in the Scottish tour of Richard Lewis’ Opera Galactica. He also has several years experience working with the International Singing Waiters group in Switzerland.

Amy Ip trained at Goldsmiths – University of London, Miss Saigon Training School and has a Musical Theatre diploma from Trinity College London. Theatre: Principal – Heartquake (Royal Court), Various – Superplays Return (Soho Theatre),  Puck – A Midsummer Night’s Dream (UKTT – Dubai), Paulina  – The Winter’s Tale (Barn Theatre – Stone Crabs), The Woman – The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (Bridewell), Yuki – Around The World In Eighty Days (BAC). Amy was also one of the founding actors at The Scoop Amphitheatre with The Steam Industry, roles included: King Jaspar – The London Nativity, Cheng I Sao – Treasure Island, Moon Priestess – Children of Hercules, Lion / Christian – Androcles and the Lion, Chorus – Agamemnon, Citizen - Oedipus. Television: Sun – Casualty, Miss Lee – Richard & Judy. Amy’s favourite flower is the chrysanthemum because her mum used to make her Chrysanthemum tea on a hot day.

Diana Randolph-Sauderson originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, initially studied dance and later became interested in musical theatre and psychology. After receiving her BA in psychology, Diana did regional theatre and performed in musicals, such as Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Damn Yankees, and Oklahoma. After moving to LA, Diana studied voice and acting and was cast in Carnival, Godspell, and in the original British production of Bashville.  She performed in concerts all over Europe and Australia before settling in Edinburgh, where she has performed lead roles in various Fringe productions, such as Rags, Doomsday,and The Rodgers and Hart Revue. If she came back to earth as a flower , it would be as a red tulip. Of this she is certain, though she cannot say why.

Kevin Kyle graduated from the Royal Academy of Music Opera Course in 2005 having won a number of awards including the Kendall Prize, and EMI Award. In 2004, he was a finalist in the London Handel Singing Competition and, in the same year, he made his BBC Proms Debut. In 2005, he performed the role of Jason in the world premier of Howard Goodall’s Jason and the Argonauts at the Royal Albert Hall.  He then went on to work for Lille and Châtelet Opera and in 2007 he toured the USA with Carl Rosa Opera. In 2008, he was featured in War Oratorio a newly commissioned feature length film for Channel Four. Kevin has also recorded for BBC Radio Three, Classic FM, Sony and BBC television. In 2009, his debut CD of Schumann’s Dichterliebe was released on the JCL labell. Kevin’s favourite plant is the venus flytrap because he really wants to be cast as Seymour in A little shop of Horrors.
Victoria Lennox was brought up in a musical family and began her involvement with the arts from a young age. Over the years, she has participated in numerous productions in her home town, as well being involved with Youth Music Theatre UK. Since leaving school, she has gone on to study musical theatre at Edinburgh’s Telford College and contemporary dance at The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, Dundee. Victoria is very much looking forward to performing at this year’s Fringe. Favourite flower would have to be the fuchsia because they look like little fairies!

Heather Hunter graduated with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music Opera Course, where she won the Tom Hammond, Van Smit, Kendall and Heather’s loves daisies and making Daisy chains.

James Dinsmore Recent Theatre includes: Lead Vocalist in Fingask Follies (Tours 2010 & 2009); President Roosevelt in Annie (Madinat Jumeirah Theatre, Dubai); Squire Goodfellow in Jack & the Beanstalk (Camberley Theatre); Nanjac/cover Lord Goring in An Ideal Husband (national tour); Young Walsingham in Half a Sixpence (national tour) and Captain Corcoran in HMS Pinafore (Union Theatre, Southwark).With Scottish Opera Chorus, he sang in Gotterdammerung, Aida, La Boheme and Fidelio. No stranger to the Edinburgh Fringe, he has written, directed and appeared in Gilbert & Sullivan go Wilde, Forbidden Fringe and Coward’s Choice. This Christmas, James will be having an awfully big adventure as Captain Hook in Motherwell’s pantomime, Peter Pan. James’ favourite flowers are yellow roses because touched by sunshine, they brighten up every room.

Seung Ho Jeong (Set Design) is a professor of Theater Arts at Seoul Institute of the Arts. His designs include The story of my life; Rainman; Namhansansung; See what I want to see; Sweeney Todd; The life; Cherry Orchard; Assassins; The birds; Pillowman; The death of salesman; Tape; Three sisters; Hecabe. Honors include The 2nd Musical Awards, The 14th Korea Musical Awards, Seoul PhD, Performing Arts festival for the best set design.

Susannah Pearse (Lyrics and Book) and YounYoung Park (Music and Book) met at New York University on the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Course and have been writing together ever since, through the magical use of skype and the internet. They were finalists in the Stiles and Drewe Best Song Award in 2009 and their show Once Upon a Time in Narcissia won the award for best musical at the CJ Showcase in South Korea How Grandmother Spider Stole the Sun, a musical for children to perform, is published by Mondo Publishing in New York. Dae Hong Kim (Video Art) is on the faculty of the Digital Art department at Seoul Institute of the Arts. Prior to coming to Seoul Institute of the Arts as a faculty member, he was a sound engineer at a music production and post production, was a musician, was an actor and an associate director at play theaters, and was a game designer. Dae Hong is highly interested in exploring the ways in which new technologies are transforming the nature of live performance.

Soonwha Choi (Costume Design) studied Costume & Stage Design at Syracuse University in U.S.A. and has participated in more than 100 productions of plays, musicals, operas, and experimental art projects in South Korea, U.S.A. and other countries. Her current interests lie in creating new aesthetics with costume both inside and outside of the theatre.

Lee, Yong Tae (Traditional Music Supervisor) is a professor of the Department of Korean Music at Seoul Institute of the Arts. He was the chief of Samulnory (Korean folk music troupe) at Incheon Municipal Dancing Troupe and was the member of Samulnori at the National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts. He performed and introduced the excellence of Korean folk music to more than 50 countries internationally as the delegate of the Korean Cultural Center.

Bok-Nyou Kim (Korean Producer) is CEO of both CLIP CMS., Ltd. for corporation cultural marketing and ECA (Education and Culture Association). She has been working as a marketing manager and producer including CLIP Service, one of biggest performing arts management group in Korea since 1996. Her major credits include The Phantom of the Opera, Cats Producers, 42th Street. Broadway, The Beauty and the Beast, Jesus Christ Superstar, etc. She also directed and supervised Happy Art Community and Happy Culture Festival sponsored by SK Telecom Ltd.
Jin-Sup Han (Director) has directed numerous productions in his home Korea including Rent, The Last 5 Years, Mamma Mia!, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and 42nd Street. He has won the Korea Musical Award for Best Director twice previously and is the Permanent Director at Seoul and Company and Professor at Kukje International College of Arts. His favourite flower is

Richard Lewis (Musical Director) read music at Magdalen College, Oxford, and later completed a master’s degree at Edinburgh University, where he first started conducting. Since August 2000 Richard has assisted Adam Fischer at the Haydn festival in Eisenstadt, Austria as well as at the annual Budapest Ring Cycle’s in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. He has also worked with Scottish Opera, at the Salzburg Festival and was appointed chorus master and conductor at Opera Queensland.Richard also created and composed Opera Galactica, a show which toured to six regional Scottish theatres in 2004, including the Shetland islands. Richard’s favourite flower is the commemorative poppy.

Sian Jones (Assistant Director) is a versatile singing actress who regularly appears in opera, musical theatre, concerts, jazz cabaret and recitals all over the world. She is delighted to be on the other side of this production, helping behind the scenes to bring the Quest to Edinburgh. She thinks freesias smell absolutely LOVELY!

Holly Linklater (UK Producer) has produced several shows whilst at the University of Cambridge, often working with Susannah Pearse. She was also President of Cambridge Student’s Union. Since then she has been a primary school teacher (4 & 5 year olds), where she regularly produced musicals written by Susannah Pearse and YounYoung Park (including How Grandmother Spider Stole The Sun). Currently Holly is finishing her Phd. She is a lecturer in Initial Teacher Education at the University of Aberdeen and works for UNESCO as a consultant for Inclusive Education. Favourite flower: Sweet peas – they smell So Good, and the more I pick for my house, the more they grow. Win Win.

Jee Jee (Choreographer) was born in Seoul Korea went to Art school in Seoul then moved to London aged 16 then went to West street school for ballet then moved to London Studio Centre. Her first musical was Carousel in National Theatre working with the Nicholas Hytner and Kenneth Macmillan then moved to the West End working on The Phantom of the Opera for 2 years. She was part of a ballet company in Germany before moving back to London where she joined London City Ballet, English National Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Ballet Ireland. She moved back to Korea in 2000. She worked in a Seoul Ballet Theatre before going to musicals in Korea  working on The Phantom Of the Opera, Cats, Beauty and the Beast, The Producers, Chicago, and also new productions of Korean Musicals.

Colette Whitehouse (Marketing and Publicity) has worked as a marketing executive at a number of publishers including Bloomsbury, Walker Books, Scholastic and Mills & Boon. Major projects included managing the advertising and in-store marketing campaigns for the Harry Potter books and event managing high profile launches for the books. Colette is now working as a marketing consultant and has just completed a volunteer contract with an NGO based in Fiji.

ECA is a Preliminary Social Enterprise which is founded to give the better education in art and culture for socially neglected children of in and outside of the country so that they may be grow up as one of the global talents in the future. So we have been developing art education contents for youth and cooperating with worldwide art education networks.
